TIKTOK NEW UPDATE
TIKTOK NEW FEATURES
TikTok, a platform for short videos, has introduced additional features to make using it safer and better in Pakistan. The new features are intended to provide viewers more opportunities to discover fresh material and personalise their viewing experiences.
The Chinese tech giant has launched four new features to enhance the user experience, including Popular feed, a non-personalized feed of trending material suitable for users 13 and older; the ability to filter articles from For You feeds using specific terms or hashtags; Reset, a feature that lets you clear off the recommendations in your For You feed, Dispersion, an expansion of TikTok's tests to diversify and secure recommendations globally
.The video platform also intends to roll out a Material Levels-based system for categorising content. It is a technique for categorising content that is frequently used by entertainment firms to determine how mature content is for audiences of various ages or with varying comfort levels for certain themes.
By identifying content that has made it past moderation, it is said to give an additional layer of protection.
"A maturity score will be assigned to the video to help prevent those under 18 from viewing it across the TikTok experience," the platform said in a statement. "When the platform detects that a video contains mature or complex themes, for example, fictional scenes that may be too frightening or intense for younger audiences.
"The company that hosts short videos is dedicated to its members' general well-being and safety as a platform that encourages creative expression and delight. According to TikTok, the platform's continued efforts to cultivate a "more welcoming online experience for its users" include the new features and the Content Levels system.
The video giant also has a number of safeguards in place to guarantee that the platform remains a secure environment for its users, including improved privacy settings, filters, in-app reporting, thorough Community Guidelines, and Local language moderation.l
